G. Zalcman is the chair of the Thoracic Oncology Department, including the oncology early phases Unit (CLIP2, French NCI-certified) of Hôpital Bichat, AP-HP.Nord, Paris-Cité University, and is senior scientist at U1339 INSERM Unit at Research Centre of Curie Institute. His main scientific interest is the molecular biology of cell signal transduction, in relation to lung carcinogenesis. He first worked on Rho proteins, then on RASSF1A/Hippo pathway, and finally, developped the “lung cancer on chip”, an new original tool to study ex-vivo therapeutic drugs (chemotherapy, immune checkpoint inhibitors, targeted agents) effects on lung cancer cells within their micro-environment (CAFs, immune cells), purified from fresh tumors sampled at surgery.
