COALA Strategic Committee and Scientific Advisory Board Meeting - 17 september 2026
COALA recently held a meeting bringing together the Strategic Committee and the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) to review the progress of the network and discuss its future research priorities.
The COALA teams presented updates from the network’s six Work Packages, covering topics ranging from minimal residual disease (MRD) and treatment resistance to tumor microenvironment, early-stage lung cancer, emerging therapeutic targets, data integration and patient involvement.
Patient perspectives were also part of the discussion, with ALK ROS1 France Cancer Poumon sharing its experience and views on research priorities and patient involvement in research.
COALA’s team also presented freshly recruited data engineer, Nicolas Chanteux, who works on knowledge and data sharing mechanisms across between members of the network.
The SAB members provided feedback on the projects presented and discussed several scientific questions with the COALA teams. Discussions included KRAS-targeted therapies, MRD, neoadjuvant approaches, environmental exposures and the tumor microenvironment, among other topics.
The meeting brought together different perspectives from across the network and provided a useful opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the next steps for COALA.
Thank you to all COALA members, SAB members and patient representatives for their participation and contributions.
